In spite that things have been a bit quiet on this website for a while, the members of Stream of Passion are still hard at work writing material for their new album.

Besides their usual method of long distance songwriting, the SoPies have had the chance to get together and blend their ideas on the rehearsal room. Here's a little sneak peak for you all!

Last but certainly not least: meet the second new guitar player of Stream of Passion: Stephan Schultz. At the tryout sessions the band got really excited about Stephan's creativity, sound and killer riffs! Read all about him on his profile at the band section.

The identity of Stream of Passion's first new member has been revealed! Meet Jeffrey Revet, the band's new keyboard player; during the new member tryouts Jeffrey impressed the band with his skill and clicked both on a musical and a personal level. We're happy to announce the SoP line-up is now complete! Over the next few days we'll reveal the identities of the new SoPies; in the meantime here are some pictures of the three new members, see if you can guess who they are!

We want to deeply thank all the talented musicians who have sent their material to us. As of now we won't be accepting any new submissions.

Hi everyone!
A lot has happened since our last newsfact. Currently we're extremely busy writing new material and we are happy to inform you that within a few weeks we've already gathered more than enough material for about half an album. What's always been special about SoP is the intercontinental webbased writing process, which we now again are using with success.
From Mexico Marcela has been writing and recording a lot of melody lines and music, which she then sends to Holland where Davy and Johan contribute their parts.
The overall feel of the new music is heavy, inspirational and still the recognizable SoP twist and we are very excited about it!

Of course we're also really busy with looking for new musicians and already have a lot of options for the new guitarplayer(s) and a keyboardplayer. During next month we will be having the first try outs.

Hi everyone,
Since our last tour we've received a lot of inquires about the future of SoP. As you may have heard on the Ayreon website, Arjen has been going through a very rough period on in his life; he has decided to quit the band and focus entirely on his new Ayreon album, which we know for sure will be a huge success so good luck with it, Arjen!

Besides Arjen, Lori and Alejandro have also decided to part ways and focus on their own personal lives and musical projects. We, the rest of the SoPies, wish the three of them all the success and happiness in the world.

HOWEVER THIS BY NO MEANS THE END OF THE BAND! The rest of us are extremely motivated to continue this beautiful story called Stream of Passion and give it a more than positive future, like we think it deserves. We are already busy writing music for a new album, so soon you'll hear more about our future plans and musical ideas. Stay tuned!

For all you fans who can't get enough of Stream Of Passion: There will be a SoP Fan Meeting on January 28 between 14:00 and 17:00 in 'De Peppel' in Zeist (NL)!

This meeting allows all fans to come together, have a chat and share your passion for SoP with other fans. But there's more! You can expect things like: unofficial backstage video footage of several S.o.P. shows, exclusive give aways, a short live set of the S.o.P. Another date has been added to Stream of Passion's upcoming tourdates! The band will perform in Lucky & Co, in Rijssen (NL) on January 25. The show scheduled for Rotherham (UK) has been changed; instead the band will perform in The Boardwalk, in Sheffield on February 3, this concert is organized by the Classic Rock Society. Stream of Passion had such a blast playing for the fans during the last two tours and the Mexico gig, that they immediately started looking for a way to get together again, and play live once again. There were also quite a few venues who expressed an interest in hosting a Stream of Passion feat. Ayreon show.

Now that all the planning is done, we can confirm a short European tour. This will be the last opportunity to see the band live in action in Europe. They will play an adjusted set-list. So come on down, and bring your friends!

Stream of Passion will make a live appearance at TMF's show Reaction next Wednesday June 28, at 4:30pm CET; there will be an interview and an acoustic performance. A live audio stream can be heard from TMF.nl.

On their upcoming shows, Stream of Passion will be performing two brand new cover songs; can you guess which they are?

1) A song written in 1979 by the pioneer of English synth pop, recently covered in 2002 by a bunch of sweet girls (under a different title).

2) A song about an object the migrator encountered on his journey on the waves of time before he entered the black hole.

Feb. 14 -- Stream of Passion will be on 3FM tonight (14th of Feb.) at 23.00 hrs (CET). They'll do a song live, and a short interview. You can listen to it live: here. Or go to www.3fm.nl.

Jan. 15th - Stream of Passion will be making in-store appearances at the following two locations:

* On Valentine's day, Tuesday the 14th of February, the band will be in De Waterput in Bergen op Zoom starting at 16.30. For more info check their site: De Waterput

* Right before the gig in Rijssen on the 17th of February, Stream of Passion will be at Popeye in Hengelo, starting at 16:45.

Dec. 16th -- A Stream of Passion CD single will be released February 13th, 2006. The release will be accompanied by a video clip shot by renowned Belgian director Peter van Eyndt. The single itself will contain three very special bonus tracks.

Dec. 16th -- The labels Icarus (Argentina) and Sol&Deneb (Mexico) have licensed the Stream of Passion album for their countries. Argentina's release date is this week. And Mexico's release date is set for January, 2006.

August 26th -- We are very thrilled and excited to tell you that Sony/BMG Benelux has signed Stream of Passion. Sony/BMG is one of the biggest labels in the world and became very interested in Arjen Lucassen's new band after hearing the demo recordings this summer.

Embrace the Storm will be released October 24th, 2005 through Sony/BMG in the Benelux and InsideOut for the rest of Europe and the U.S./Canada. For Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltic States, Stream of Passion has signed with the label IronD.

August 26th -- Stream of Passion will hit the road for a European tour starting late January 2006. The band is already busy rehearsing and will perform songs from their debut album Embrace the Storm, as well has songs from the Ayreon back-catalogue. Tour dates to be announced soon!

August 15th -- We know you are all very eager to get your hands on 'Embrace the Storm', but we regret to inform you that, due to a few unforseen circumstances the release date for the album has been pushed back one month. The official release date is now October 24th, 2005.
